ABOUT NICK EGAN, PT

My name is Nick Egan and I have been a physical therapist since 2006. I have specialized in neurological rehab from the beginning. I have also specialized in treatment of all forms of dizziness/vertigo since 2012.

I enjoy the problem solving that goes with complex rehabs, and more importantly, I love to see people improve.

I often think to myself "what would I want if I was in the middle of a complex recovery?" The answer is: I would want someone to be invested in my recovery and to give my body every chance to make every gain possible. That is what I provide to others.

I treat both acute and chronic conditions.

Here is a list of some (but not all) conditions I have treated with success.

Neurological conditions:

Stroke

Spinal cord injury

Transverse myelitis

Multiple sclerosis

Guillain Barre

Ataxia

Traumatic brain injury

Post concussive syndrome

tumors within the brain and spinal cord

and many more.

I am experienced with the many forms of all of these conditions as well as the many complicated symptoms associated with those variants.

Additionally, I am experienced with tone and spasticity management, which in and of itself can be complicated.

If you have questions regarding whether I can work with a particular condition please contact me.

Why did I get into vestibular rehab?

As complex cases found me so to did dizzy patients. I hated feeling like I could not provide them high quality care, and they are underserved as a patient population.

My solution was to take as many courses possible from the leaders in vestibular rehabilitation.  From there, by learning from what my patients were going through simply by listening and observing, I was able to develop a very successful understanding of how to recognize where dizziness was coming from and how to treat it.

Here are some common conditions I treat.

Vestibular conditions:

BPPV

Hypofunction from neuritis or labyrinthitis

Post concussive dizziness

Cervicogenic dizziness

PPPD

Central dizziness

Migrainous vertigo.
